Community Programming

Community

The residency is not just for artists —
it is for the community that surrounds them.

Engaging with local communities is something many residencies neglect. For us, it is central — a chance to open the door to people who may have never felt the art world was made for them.

Open Studio

People, brought into the practice.

Our Open Studio program brings a carefully selected group of community members — people who may rarely set foot in an art space — directly into the artist's process.

How a painter applies paint, how a writer develops an idea, how a ceramicist forms a piece are all ways to build a relationship with an audience. It is an intimate, invite-only experience designed to spark new relationships between people and art.

Near the end of each residency, the resident artist sits down with a local artist for a public conversation about creativity, commitment, and what it really means to live as an artist.

These evenings are meant to engage audience members in understanding who the artist is as a person. By learning why they chose this path and what motivates them to continue — even when faced with a lack of support — we hope to inspire a deeper appreciation for the artists living and working among us.

The Artful Conversation Series

The artist, in their own words.

Art is not just a personal practice — it is a bridge between people.
