Artist in Residency Programs

The Residencies

Two programs, one purpose — to give artists the time, space, and quiet to go deeper, surrounded by the natural beauty of Montana.

Each residency is self-directed. We don't shape what an artist makes — we offer the conditions for the work to find its own way.

For Artists Beyond Montana

Twice a year, in spring and fall, we invite an artist from outside Montana to join us for four to eight weeks of focused creative work. Our goal is to offer an opportunity for quiet reflection, surrounded by exceptional natural beauty, that motivates the artist to delve deeper into their practice.

For Artists Rooted Here

inAIR

Artists rooted in this place.

For artists already rooted in this place, we offer our four-week inAIR program twice a year. We give local artists the space to concentrate on a specific work they have a clear vision for — and the room they need to bring that idea into reality.
